About Iraqi Food:

Fun Fact: The world’s oldest “cookbooks” were discovered in Iraq as stone tablets dating back to 1700 B.C. As a thriving center of ancient civilizations, Iraq’s culinary history brims with delicious recipes. These days, Iraqi meals begin with appetizers and salads, known as mezza. Main courses center around rice and meat. Hungry? Your hosts look forward to sharing a homemade Iraqi meal with you!

About Your Hosts:

Sabreen was forcibly displaced due to the region’s instability. In 2013, when the militant organization Islamic State (ISIS) attacked her city, she fled to Bangkok. Diana was persecuted in Baghdad due to her religious beliefs. The violence and intimidation from the Mahdi Army prompted her family to seek refuge in Thailand. Thanks to culinary training, they are reclaiming their independence and identity.

koke - moss | dama - ball Root into Japanese tradition with botanical design. Join us for an afternoon that blends nature's beauty with artistic inspiration. This hands-on workshop invites you to dig into the serene world of Japanese botanical art. Kokedama is the technique of growing a plant inside a living pot - a soil ball covered with moss. The Zen quality comes from nurturing a minimal, mindful design and connection to nature. Since Kokedama doesn’t require a plastic pot, it’s also an earth-friendly way to bring a serene, green presence into your space while enhancing indoor air purification.
