Community Fridge 2020

🍅🍞🥬️ Today's #MetricsMonday is brought to you to by our Community Fridges! We've enjoyed a long-standing partnership with Scholars of Sustenance Thailand, in which we collect quality, leftover food from our vendors at theCOMMONS Thonglor and Saladaeng and add it to our Community Fridges at both locations. Instead of wasting these valuable ingredients, they are turned into nutritious meals for orphanages, halfway homes, and other low-income communities.

There are many important benefits to our Community Fridges collaboration with Scholars of Sustenance Thailand. Not only does it help end food waste and provide meals for others, but it saves energy so that we have a smaller carbon footprint, which protects our earth. In fact, in 2020 alone, our Community Fridges helped others and saved lots of energy. From January – November 2020, we accomplished the following:

✔️ Donated 806 kilos of food to SOS Thailand.

✔️ We provided 3,382 meals to those in need.

✔️ We saved 1532 KG of GHG emissions (Co₂-e (kg)) by reducing food waste. That equals 134 days of electricity for 1 household!

Let's work together to spread kindness! A successful Community Fridge reduces food waste, builds a stronger community through collaboration & sharing, provides nutritious meals, and supports environmental initiatives.
